Hi, I'm Dr. Kam

PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT

I was a collegiate pitcher who turned a love for baseball into a passion for helping players excel. After graduating from Azusa Pacific University's DPT program, I specialized in orthopedics, spine, and sports rehabilitation. I earned Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist certification in 2022, Sports Clinical Specialist certification in 2023, and a Fellowship with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists in 2024.

That's why I created Puer Physical Therapy – to provide athletes with 1-on-1 tailored care and training. Whether you're aiming to relieve pain or enhance your skills, I'm here to help you reach your goals.

My Story

Roommate: "So what do you think about a career in physical therapy? We can stay in baseball and healthcare at the same time."

Me: "It's going to be hard. It helps that we know baseball, but we still need to learn everything about physical therapy. It might take longer than expected, or I might not make it. Let me think about it."

I switched my major to psychology with a pre-physical therapy focus after considering exercise science, health sciences, and biology.

I joined multiple clubs and studied everything I could. I knew I needed top grades to get into physical therapy school.

While in physical therapy school, I worked part-time teaching pitching lessons and strength training to youth athletes. I quickly realized parents and players loved my personality and style during our sessions.

I learned who the best physical therapists in California were and knew I had to go through Kaiser Permanente's curriculum before starting my own practice. I listened to podcasts and grand rounds by Mike Reinold, Eric Cressey, and Kevin Wilk constantly.

I invested over $10,000 in additional continuing education courses to accelerate my journey to becoming a physical therapist. Altogether, my education and training cost over $250,000.

I started teaching at Azusa Pacific University to solidify my knowledge of foundational physical therapy principles and ensure I could confidently share my expertise.

I aggressively learned and implemented everything I could about being the best possible physical therapist. But most importantly, I found mentors who guided me on my path. They told me the steps I needed to take to become good.

After completing physical therapy school, I completed residencies in orthopedics and fellowships in spine and sports rehabilitation treating over 7,000+ athletes, earning Orthopaedic (2022) and Sports (2023) Clinical Specialist certifications, and a Fellowship with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (2024).

Through this intensive journey, I condensed over 10 years of knowledge into just 3 years. Think about that. That's the power of education and determination.

And I'd love to be the person you lean on for help in your athletic journey. Let's achieve your goals together.
